MiCA is here. What changes?
The EU MiCA regulation has applied across the Union since the end of 2024. Poland gave firms a transitional period, which ended on 30 June 2026. Since then, only firms authorised as a CASP may provide crypto services to customers.
Until then, Monetio operated under a Polish registration for virtual currency activities (RDWW-1416). When the transitional period ended, we closed our own crypto business — we do not hold customer assets and we do not execute orders.
- 01
Financial supervision
Purchases are provided by a CASP-authorised firm supervised by an EU regulator.
- 02
Your funds stay separate
Payment and crypto go directly between you and the provider — never through Monetio.
- 03
Identity verification
The provider verifies your identity (KYC), as anti-money-laundering rules require.
How it will work
- 1
Choose your crypto
In the provider's window, enter the amount (in euro or złoty) and your wallet address.
- 2
Verify your identity
A one-off check with the provider — an ID document and a selfie, a few minutes.
- 3
Pay and receive
After payment (e.g. SEPA transfer or card), the crypto is sent to your wallet.

Frequently asked questions
Can I already buy crypto through Monetio?
Not yet. We are preparing to launch purchases through a regulated partner and plan to go live within a few weeks. Call or email us and we will let you know on launch day.
Will Monetio hold my crypto or my money?
No. You transact directly with a crypto-asset service provider authorised under MiCA. The provider verifies your identity, accepts your payment and sends the crypto to the wallet you choose. Your funds never pass through Monetio's accounts.
What is MiCA?
MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets, EU Regulation 2023/1114) is the EU law on crypto-asset markets. A firm that holds customers' crypto, exchanges it or executes orders must be authorised as a CASP by a financial regulator. An authorisation from one EU country is valid across the whole European Economic Area.
What happened to Monetio's previous business?
Monetio operated under a Polish registration for virtual currency activities (RDWW-1416). When the Polish MiCA transitional period ended on 30 June 2026, we closed our own crypto business. This was not a penalty or a withdrawal of the registration, and on that date we held no customer assets.
Where do the prices on this site come from?
From CoinGecko, which averages prices from many exchanges, and — when it is unavailable — from the Binance exchange, converted to euro and złoty at the National Bank of Poland's average rates. Prices refresh every minute and are for information only; the price of an actual transaction may differ.
